How To Minimize Your Ecological Footprint

I have been reading Uno’s Garden by Graeme Base, in class we have been talking about our ecological footprint.

Here are three ways to minimize your ecological footprint:

  1. Walk or ride more places to use less fuel.
  2. Give back what you take by planting a tree every month and caring for it.
  3. Organise your rubbish into recycling(the yellow bin), green waste(the green bin) and rubbish(the red bin)

I hope these tips help you to make the world a better place:)

The grey black ash,

Of the mushroom cloud,

Painful and red,

Sickening and loud.

The tragic scars,

Of the suffering people,

The burning destruction,

Of the flat colourless land.

The dangerous blast,

Shattering everything imaginable,

The horrifying sight,

Of the heart-breaking bomb.

That disasterous day,

When everything happened,

The devastating ruins,

That crumbled into dust.

Interesting things about LEGO.

Here are some cool facts about LEGO.

  • There are more than 62 bricks for every human on the planet.
  • There are 915 million different ways you can combine six eight-studded LEGO bricks.
  • All the LEGO bricks sold in a year, laid end to end, would circle the Earth over five times.
  • 40,000,000,000 LEGO bricks would be needed, stacked on top of each other, to reach the moon from Earth.

Sadako and the thousand paper cranes

We are reading a book in class called Sadako and the thousand paper cranes. It is about a girl who lives in Hiroshima and was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped.Ten years later (when she was twelve) she died of Leukemia (the disease spread by the bomb).

We have looked at a video and summarised it.Here is my summary-

  1. President Truman gave Japan a chance to surrender but they didn’t
  2. August 6th 1945 Hiroshima was bombed and 200,000 died
  3. August 9th 1945 Nagasaki was bombed and 75,000 died
  4. President Truman didn’t give Japan warning about the second bombing

This is a really sad story, but I think you should read the book.It is quite good.
